Two Eastern Cape vehicle dealerships have been recognized nationally for their achievements in the super - competitive business.

Midland Auto in Graaff-Reinet has been named Ford Southern Africa's rural dealer of the year while General Motors' Kenrich outlet in Grahamstown has won four awards, including top rural dealership.

Opel, Isuzu and Chevrolet dealership Kenrich boss, Dean Kent, said it was the fifth year in a row that the Grahamstown outlet had won GMSA national awards.

It lifted honours in four categories in 2010 for sales, workshop service, parts and financial management, as well as being named top rural dealership.

"Being one of the top performers out of GMSA's 156 dealerships for the last six years running is amazing for little old Grahamstown" said Kent.
